🎆FINISHED QUILT:🎆

Front: Cat paper-pieced this beautiful quilt using Tara Faughnan's Fireworks Quilt pattern. It is 37 rectangled blocks of varying sizes, arranged to provide a stunning effect.

Back: The backing fabric is Wilmington Essentials "Palm Multi" wide (108") fabric.

Quilting- Pattern: The stitching pattern is "Love My Cats" from Intelligent Quilting.

Quilting- ThreadCat used Teal (So Fine 50 #437) thread to stitch both the front and the back of the quilt.

🎆PROGRESS PHOTOS:🎆
Construction:

Using Tara Faughnan's Fireworks Quilt pattern, Cat paper-pieced the 37 scrappy blocks using leftovers from some of her prior made quilts, such as this one and this one; she also incorporated strips from a Robert Hoffman batik jelly roll, as well as many scraps from her stash.

Quilting:
After some auditioning, Cat chose Teal (So Fine 50 #437) to stitch her quilt.

We loaded the quilt back, followed by laying on the batting and then placing the quilt top, creating the quilt sandwich.
🎆
Then we completely basted all 3 layers, down one side, across the belly bar, and back up the other side, advancing and repeating, before we began the quilt stitching.

Beginning the first of 7 rows of "Love My Cats".

Cat's choice of Teal (So Fine 50 #437) thread is perfect!

At the bottom of the quilt top, we discovered one block that was a bit full and needed some "soup can" assistance (see arrows). We avoided creating any folds into the fabric and the method worked perfectly - tried and true!

Working on the last of the 7 rows.

Trimming:
After quilting was finished, Cat trimmed and squared the sides. The cut-off backing fabric pieces from the sides would be used to make the quilt's binding.

Binding:
Cat machine attached the binding strips that were made from the same backing fabric, Wilmington Essentials "Palm Multi".

Washing:
She machine washed the finished quilt (cold water, no bleach) using dye trapping sheets (these are usually either Color Catchers or Color Grabbers).
Once washed, the quilt is scrumptiously wrinkly and so very soft.
