This quilt was expertly and beautifully pieced by (and belongs to) Catherine L. ("Cat")
It was quilted on my Janome QMP-18 long arm. Finished size: 85" x 105”

The backing fabric is a cotton floral print, Wilmington Prints "Sentimental Pink".

Front: Cat's gorgeous finished quilt has seventeen 12-inch blocks ... 9 patterned-pieced blocks, and 8 alternating blocks, all set on pointe, in pink, green and white fabrics, PLUS 14 inset triangles and pink floral cornerstones!
Borders: There are 4 alternating borders, 2 white and 2 in Moda's "Porcelain Jacobean Pink Blossom" floral cotton print.
For thread colors, Cat chose "Grass Green" (So Fine 50) for the top, and "Pearl" (So Fine 50) for the bottom.
It's scrunchy and gorgeous!

Cat shared some of her piecing planning photos with me...
The lovely quilt top floating as it is quilted on my Janome QMP18 long arm.
The quilting pattern "Flower Swirls" was magical on the already lovely pieced quilt top.
This is what we did when a small crisis appeared: added batting (via sewing machine on an ironing board next to the Janome QMP18) when we discovered the batting on the long arm was about 8" too short to finish the quilt!
Cat was an excellent student - after 3 days of long-arming on her quilt, she was really getting the hang of it!

Cat skillfully adds her perfect hand sewn binding.
After being washed with dye trapping sheets (such as Color Catchers or Color Grabbers), the quilt will be soft and wrinkly. Yes, quilts can be washed and used and loved!
